smartCable offers software solutions for the product creation process of wiring harnesses. V5H, embedded in CATIA, suppports the design phase, MS_Cable uses platform MicroStation and creates manufacturing documentation. Both systems work model based and use the same data model. Viewing tool autoPilot allows navigation in harness model and offers information services. Data model describes properties of each involved harness element and in addition links and relations to other elements and their design codes.

The permanent increasing complexity of harnesses with modern architectures is therby manageable. This model centric approach allows to generate control data for  work planning, testing and cutting. Data loss between process steps are eliminated, manual interactions are significantly reduced. Up to 90 % time reduction is reached using the integrated change process.
